COMBI LOCK TROUBLESHOOTING
Combination not working?
Follow these simple steps to override the original code & reset your lock.
Opening a jammed/
TIP 1
- Set lock to last known combination.
- Gently turn the uppermost dial towards the next largest number*without clicking the dial into position. At the same time, pull the lock’s shank upwards (see fig. 1 drawing of this process in action).
NB: Ensure all other dials remain set to the lock’s original combination code.
- Taking each dial in turn, repeat step 2.
- If the lock fails to open, repeat the process turning each individual dial towards the next smallest number* and pulling the shank upwards.
TIP 2
- Set lock to last known
- Starting with the uppermost dial, increase by one digit* while simultaneously pulling the lock’s shank upwards (see fig. 2 drawing of this process in action).
NB: Ensure the dial ‘clicks’ into position. - If lock fails to open, decrease the same dial by one digit*.
- If lock still won’t open, repeat steps 1-3 on each subsequent dial.
TIP 3
Flip lock over so you are looking at it from the rear and reset the combination with the last known combination code and attempt to open (see fig. 3 drawing of this process in action detailing lack of ‘set line’).
RESETTING YOUR LOCK
- Once opened, be sure to reset the combination, regardless of whether or not you choose the same 3-4 number / letter code.
- To reset, put the lock’s shank into ‘set’ mode (see table of instructions below) and carefully select each number / letter, taking care to line it up correctly with the ‘set line’.
NB: Make sure that each dial ‘clicks’ into position to avoid becoming locked out again.
- Once reset, close lock, scramble dials and test your combination before attaching to a suitcase or bag.
* for word locks, increase / decrease by one letter in alphabetical order.
